Cleveland Clinic’s Neurological Institute is seeking a highly accomplished and visionary Director of Research to lead and expand the research initiatives at the Sleep Disorder Center. This pivotal role offers an exciting opportunity to advance understanding and treatment of sleep disorders within a leading academic and clinical environment.
Candidates must hold an MD, PhD or equivalent degree. Candidate must have research experience in the field of sleep medicine and possess a demonstrated record of successful research, leadership, and a passion for advancing sleep medicine.
The successful candidate will develop and implement a strategic research vision, leveraging the extensive expertise and resources of Cleveland Clinic in collaboration with center and institute leadership. They will lead and mentor a talented research team at the main campus while collaborating with investigators across Cleveland Clinic. The position involves engagement with NIH-funded projects, clinical and investigator-initiated trials focused on sleep disorders and their comorbidities, as well as translational work targeting conditions such as obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, hypersomnia, and circadian rhythm disturbances.
A core component of this role - an understanding of sleep disorders through clinical practice or research is essential to guide research priorities. The candidate will be eligible for an appointment as an associate or full professor at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University, commensurate with their academic achievements.
Salary range: $280,000 - $375,000
The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires and is for a 100%, full-time employment (FTE). A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be consistent with fair market value and determined after taking various factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set, % of FTE and board certification. This is not inclusive of the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package, which includes among other benefits, healthcare/dental/vision, and retirement.
